Premiering in 2013 as the first fan convention dedicated to celebrating Halloween, this year’s event was bigger, better and had more than enough horror and haunts to Scare LA.

I attended my first ScareLA in 2015 and have been obsessed with celebrating Halloween before it’s actually Halloween ever since.

Los Angeles is one of the best places to be if you love Halloween. There’s Monsterpalooza in April, Midsummer Scream in July, ScareLA in August, Son of Monsterpalooza in September and plenty of other costume related events scheduled throughout the year to keep even the biggest and most insane Halloween superfan satisfied.

ScareLA is now one of the fastest growing fan conventions in the U.S.

This year’s theme was the “Season of the Witch,” hosted by the Queen of Halloween herself, Elvira.

No, not this fauxVira (although she did look pretty good)…

…or these sexy Vira-ettes…

…the real Elvira, Cassandra Peterson herself was on hand to sign autographs and do meet and greets with her fans.

I had the pleasure of working with Cassandra on a couple of TV productions back in the day and I have to say she is one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever worked with.

I also got a chance to meet Bill Moseley who has starred in a number of cult classic horror films, including House of 1000 Corpses, Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Devil’s Rejects and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. My sister is absolutely obsessed with this guy, so she about shit her pants when I texted her a picture of him signing one of his photos for her. You’re welcome Dawn.

While visiting with celebrities is always fun, the real reason I like coming to conventions like this, is to meet the hardcore fans who take the time to get dressed up and spend the day entertaining the masses. They are the ones who make these events so much fun to attend.

Scary & Nice

I could’ve sworn the one in the middle was Bieber but it looks like he was out in Hawaii this past weekend playing dong wars with Orlando Bloom.

This guy definitely had my vote for “Best Costume.”

Don’t forget the furries.

Scary? Not really but he was still awesome.

…and the “Winner For Most Beautiful” goes to this sexy lady, who caught my eye as I was walking by the booth she was sitting at. Just look at how incredibly beautiful she is. Winning!

Of course there’s always the creative stuff that’s fun to look at.

Including this scary ginger-in-a-box doll…

…but it was these incredible dolls created by Sheri DeBow (http://www.sheridebow.com/) that really blew my mind.

Keep up the good work Sheri:)

Conventions and merch booths go hand in hand and there were plenty of those around at this years ScareLA.

Anybody need some helping hands?

Or a creepy mask?

There was also some cool TV/movie memorabilia.

Wolfy baby!

Even Scooby-Doo made an appearance in “The Mystery Machine.”

And for those still not satisfied with all that this years ScareLA had to offer? Well, they could always go shoot some killer zombies…

…or check out the petting zoo…

…and play with the pollo locos…

…take a chance at love…

…or do what I did and enjoy the relaxing sounds of The Jimmy Psycho Experiment.

For some reason, listening to “the world’s only spooky/sci fi/punk rock lounge act” seemed like the perfect way to end my spooktacular day at ScareLA. See you next year.
